AFTER A MARCH

I don't recognize anyone in this photo, but we're supposed to be on a
10 mile march. Things have gotten slack, as I can tell from seeing the rifle
laying on the ground.

MORNING DRILL

This is our platoon on a morning drill. Second from the right is Gola New,
who was from Kentucky and hadn't worn shoes before he joined the army. He was
convicted of rape during the war and sent to Litchfield Prison, which we heard
horrible stories about. His conviction was later overturned and he returned to
our platoon.
